If you are a psychic or a medium or someone who is spirituality sensitive then you will appreciate the need to protect yourself from psychic attack or negative vibrations. This can include protection from discarnate spirits but also from the everyday negative vibrations that surround you.
Here I offer some safe and easy techniques to help you safeguard your spiritual journey. Today there is a greater need than ever to dispel some of the myths and misconceptions that are being propagated by fantasy Television ghost hunts such as Most Haunted. In my opinion, these silly paranormal programme's claim to tell the truth about ghosts and haunting but are in reality nothing more than cheap entertainment.

The studio in the advertising agency was on the second floor and overlooked the main street of the city. "Hey Craig. Do you know this guy," said a co-worker, as he looked down at an odd-looking man in the street below. Unfortunately, I did know him. It was Terry--someone I had known from my teenage years. Terry had serious psychological difficulties. Sometime ago he had been diagnosed schizophrenic and he needed a weekly injection to keep him stable. It was plain to see, by the way he leaned sideways and leered at us, that he had missed a few of his treatments again.
Terry was a nice enough character, and I knew he would never harm anyone. He was a person that rarely took risks. I remember, for example, how he gave my friend and I a lift in his car. It took us all day to make the 75-mile journey, moving at less than 10 mph along the highway! At the time, he explained, it was a little like the slow-walking meditation used in Vipassana (a Buddhist practice that uses pure self-observation to realize the transient nature of life's activities).
Terry's wife Dolly, who he met while in a hospital, was also an interesting subject. She continually wore dark glasses in case of a nuclear flash or other bright lights. Like Terry she cared intensely about nature. I remember once introducing a friend to them. Unfortunately, My friend did not know about Dolly's concerns and coolly lit a match--something the rest of us would never dare do in the company of Dolly. “Oh my God, the trees! The trees!” Dolly burst out, as she fell to the floor and covered her eyes. We made our excuses and left in a hurry. I could sense that this incident was likely to trigger one of Terry and Dolly's surreal squabbles and it was wise not to stay. My perplexed friend never lit a match in their home again.
My colleagues in the champagne and rubber plant world of advertising might not understand my longtime friendship with such suspect individuals. However, "Yes, I know the guy," I responded. "Don't worry about him. He'll get bored soon and will go away."
EARLY ATTEMPTS AT PSYCHIC PROTECTION
Two hours later, I decided I had to do something. This was before my mediumistic abilities had fully unfolded, but I was developing a sensitivity to vibrations from other people and I found it extremely hard to concentrate on work with him down there. Tests in laboratories have revealed that many people can sense when they are being watched. The heartbeats of such subjects, in fact, will increase slightly even when he or she is consciously unaware they are being stared at. The vibrations coming up from Terry felt like daggers.
My solution, in kind, was to use a mental image to protect myself from the unceasing invasion. I imagined a mirror surrounding me, symbolically blocking my perception of being under spiritual attack. The mirror would both shield me and reflect back the vibrations, allowing me to concentrate. I focused on this image and began to feel more comfortable. Soon I was working as usual, and the next time I looked up from my work I noticed that Terry had gone.
PSYCHIC PROTECTION WORKS
When lunchtime came, I left the building by the side alley. Terry appeared as if from nowhere and bellowed at me. "How dare you point a mirror at me! How dare you wear a suit and point a mirror at me!" I managed to calm Terry down and explain that just because I was wearing a suit didn't mean to say that I was one of “them.” Clearly this had worried him (and perhaps rightly). But how did Terry know that I had been imagining a mirror? Clearly, the vibrations he was projecting were real and the technique I used was an effective counter-measure.
This incident was to me a practical demonstration of the reality of vibrations and how it is possible to use mental imagery to protect ourselves from negative influences. It was a lesson that has served me well during my years as a Spiritualist medium and psychic counselor. In addition, it showed me that maybe society judges insanity a little too harshly. I know that Terry and others like him can be deluded, but could it be that sometimes they are simply aware of real mental energies?

MY BOOK: Protecting the Soul
 Words such as spirit, soul, and God are very emotive and may have different meanings to different people. Most dictionaries define the word soul as "the spiritual, rational, and immortal part in man.” I suppose you could call the soul our essence. It is the very core of our being-- the part that continues after death and is eternal. It transcends the mind and the moral and emotional part of our nature.
The soul is the seat of innate knowledge and is the source of our conscience. Contained within the vehicle of the spirit, it is the part of us that moves forward on a cosmic journey over many lives. Beginning as a simple spark of God, it grows over many lifetimes from amoeba to human, evolving like a spiritual version of the body's DNA to become the storehouse of our spiritual knowledge and understanding.

200 YEAR OLD GHOST TELLS OF MURDER
 Some years ago, my daughter and I started using the ouija board. A man who said that he had been murdered over 200 years ago contacted us. We felt a happy feeling when he communicated and gradually began to recognise his personality but we stopped using the board when we started to get some unpleasant interference. Soon after we stopped, I felt a hand brush against my face as I lay in bed. I experienced a feeling of happiness and uplifted. The next morning my sister told me that she also that same night had felt a hand brush against her face and had the same feeling of elation.
